A COVID-19 Protocol Update from Bishop Perry
Considering the current reduction of infection and hospitalization rates in the State of Michigan, Bishop Perry and Bishop Singh have agreed to allow the temporary COVID precautions (instituted on January 16,2022) to expire at the end of February.
On March 1, 2022, we will return to our normal Phase 3 of the Plan for Re-entry.
- Masks are recommended, but not required for indoor worship and gatherings.
- Congregations may return to coffee hour and food-based gatherings, with the provision that extra space is allowed to avoid overcrowding.
In both instances, congregational leaders are encouraged to consider how the changes will impact your local context, and to implement changes as helpful.
Additionally, childcare/daycare facilities may continue to operate under the guidance issued by the State of Michigan or the county in which they are licensed.
On behalf of the Rt. Rev. Dr. Bonnie A. Perry- 11th Bishop of the Diocese of Michigan, we are grateful for your continued commitment to keeping our congregations and communities safe. If you are not fully vaccinated already, please do so as soon as possible and encourage others in your life to do the same.
