Our Safe Church Trainers are Zoom-equipped to teach online!
Track 1 = Track 1, formerly known as “Universal” Training fosters a culture of safety and inclusion of all people, and covers a broad overview of issues regarding vulnerability, power, and healthy boundaries.
Universal Training is designed to equip all people to live out their Baptismal Covenant. All members of the Episcopal Church shall have access to this training through diocesan resources.

Track 1 session is self-directed, lasts 90 minutes and is free.
2020 TRACK 1 TRAINING DATES
– To take the free, Safe Church Track One Training Online, please scroll down to the registration form or click here. Your submission will then be processed, and you will receive an email from the Whitaker Institute Online School with instructions for the course. Please allow up to one business day for processing.
Track 2 = Track 2, formerly known as “Advanced” Training, is a deep dive into the policy for implementing the Safe Church Policy in your specific ministry role.
We begin the course with Track 1, then move to Track 2 for the second 90 minute segment. Track 2 engages specific scenarios you might face in your specific role.
Track 2 session has a facilitator, lasts 3 hours and is free.
TRACK 2 TRAINING DATES (DURATION: 8:45 a.m. – 12 p.m. )

Track 3 = Track 3, formerly known as “Specialized” Training, is a 6 hour session for supervisors of programs. There is no prerequisite for this course; it includes:
- The prevention, identification, and response to all forms of abuse and neglect.
- Vulnerability within the pastoral relationship.
- An introduction to gender non-binary
- The needs of all LGBTQ+ individuals, including children and youth, and those of aging adults who often struggle to find care or residential facilities adequately equipped to meet their needs
- The ways children and youth, and vulnerable adults can engage in self-advocacy
- The needs of differently abled children, youth, and vulnerable adults
Track 3 session gas a facilitator, lasts 6 hours, and is free.
