Dear Friends,

On Sunday, July 7th, a mass shooting took place in our city of Detroit, MI. Nineteen people were injured by gunfire, and a young man and a young woman were senselessly killed.

As our faithful response to this tragedy, Church of the Messiah, Detroit will hold a prayer vigil and press conference. We will pray for our community and offer up proposals that we believe can curtail the gun violence that plagues our city.

We invite your prayers, and hope that you can join us at the Vigil on Monday, July 15 as described below.

The vigil begins at 12:00 p.m.

The press conference will follow at 12:30 p.m.

The event will end at 1:15 p.m.

All are welcome.

We are specifically asking all clergy who are available to attend and stand with us in solidarity and prayer.
